Well, we made it, folks. Another week in the books — high fives all around!
Before we get to the really good stuff, here are some fun historical facts about June 14th!
• On this day in 1846, a group of settlers declare California to be a republic. Despite not being born here, Meredith and I love this state and are delighted to call it home.
• On this date in 1907, Norwegian women won the right to vote!
Given our sweet new retro AF A Woman's Place Is In The White House design up there, that second fact is definitely worth raising a glass to — skål!
We added some other fresh designs (which you can scroll down to see), but we also recorded a new podcast episode for your listening pleasure!
This week Meredith and I share a customer review, discuss late-80s teen angst cinematic gem Heathers, discover there are way more people on YouTube freaked out by wiccans, pagans, and witches than there are actual wiccans, pagans, and witches on YouTube and come to the defense of the witches (in case their protection spells are on the fritz), and we address the misplaced indignation some people feel when they see our Someday We'll All Be Dead design out in the world.
We also talk a bit about the other brands we're co-sponsoring this month's Suave Summer Giveaway with — which you should all enter to win by clicking here, since the prize pack is valued at $650 and chock full of rad merchandise from equally rad companies, including ours! — and read a ton of fan comments from our recent Question of the Day posts on Facebook & Instagram — including a tangential conversation discussing my family's obsession with condiments. I also admit to being perplexed by the sudden Reddit Renaissance of Keanu Reeves and implore listeners to explain it to me. Enjoy!
As for the other new stuff, we've got this sweet Nirvana-inspired Smells Like Broken Spirit design for all you grunge aficionados swimming in nostalgia & sadness and pining for your long-lost flannels...
...and for all of you existentialists looking for something both minimalist and cerebral, we've got something to help you connect with others who have been similarly victimized by the cosmic void. It's a bit of a mouthful, but you've got a big brain and even bigger questions:
That's it for now! Meredith and I are heading to Joshua Tree tomorrow for a quick weekend getaway so she can commune with the bats like the aspiring goth desert priestess she is and so I can come back refreshed and recharged to work on some new art for your sartorial enjoyment next week. We'll also have another new podcast episode! This gives you plenty of time to subscribe on iTunes, Spotify, Stitcher, and/or Google Play and leave us a review. I mean...you don't have to. But what else are you going to do today — work?! As if. Until next time...
Peace, love, and desert vibes,
