IT'S NATIONAL EAT WHAT YOU WANT DAY!
To be perfectly honest, dear reader, every day is eat what I want day, so I'm not sure today is anything special for me. But if there's something you're normally not treating yourself to, today's the day to indulge according to the calendar.
I'm preoccupied with other things, like trying to outsmart robots. In case you missed it in Monday's email, Boredwalk now has TWO accounts on TikTok and Instagram. Why? Because these platforms view accounts run by brands that do advertise differently than accounts run by creators that don't advertise. If you're a brand that advertises at all, even if you mostly post organic content to your account (that's us), your ability to amass organic views on those platforms is severely limited.
We're a creator-owned brand that sometimes advertises, but since the robots classify us exclusively as a brand that advertises, the only way for us to get around the robots' effort to limit views is to have separate accounts. Whew! The good news for you is we've hired a dedicated content team who will be serving up fresh LOLs on the new accounts which you can follow here and here.
The angry robot overlord Boredwalk must appease...probably.
Before we get to our main course — amusing links to brighten your day — let's mention a few May 11th birthdays and historical facts:
• Surrealist artist Salvador Dalí was born on this day in 1904. This prolific creator's work included painting, graphic arts, film, sculpture, design, photography, fiction, poetry, autobiography, essays and criticism. Whew! Hindsight has shown us that Dalí may have harbored fascist sympathies (among other assorted unsavory interests), but he also famously quipped "I don't do drugs, I am drugs," and with a mustache like his and a proclivity for making trippy art, who are we to argue?
• It was on this day in 1997 that IBM’s Deep Blue computer defeated Garry Kasparov in chess, proving that I'm not the only human doing battle with our robot overlords.
• Finally, it was on this day in 1969 that British comedy troupe Monty Python formed, founded by Graham Chapman, John Cleese, Terry Gilliam, Eric Idle, Terry Jones, and Michael Palin.
In case you missed it, we mentioned on Friday that Boredwalk has a stockists page so you can shop local and support Boredwalk at the exact same time! Our newest retailer AtticSalt even has a couple of items from our limited edition weekend drops and they're the only place to buy those particular items this summer. They have locations in 13 states, which is 26% of the Union!
Now on to some amusing links!

*Our creator team has full discretion to deal with trolls how they see fit, but they decided to leave his comment and allow him to continue to embarrass himself.
