Happy Let It Go Day! I guess we are supposed to let go of regrets or resentments or whatever, but this clearly isn't compatible with my favorite things, like holding grudges and exacting vengeance on those who have wronged me.

Today is also National Hydration Day, so if like me you wish to thumb your nose at National Let It Go Day, might I suggest you hydrate with the tears of you nemeses? Sure, they're on the salty side for a beverage, but refreshing nonetheless! At least emotionally.

  • Actress and producer Frances McDormand, born this day in 1957! Ms McDormand is known for her roles in films like Raising Arizona, Fargo, and Nomadland. As a highly acclaimed star of the stage and screen, Ms McDormand has won four Academy Awards, two Golden Globe Awards, three British Academy Film Awards, two Primetime Emmys, and a Tony Award!
  • Singer/Songwriter/Actress June Carter Cash, born this day in 1929. This talented five-time Grammy winner could play banjo, guitar, harmonica, and autoharp. She also appeared in several films and TV shows. In the early 1960s, June Carter wrote the song "Ring of Fire", which later went on to be a hit for her future husband, Johnny Cash. June Carter was a distant cousin of former US President Jimmy Carter, and the two had a close relationship throughout their lifetimes.
  • Singer/Songwriter/Producer/King of the Astro-Zombies Glenn Allen Anzalone, better known by his stage name Glenn Danzig, born today in 1955! Danzig is the founder of the bands The Misfits, Samhain, and Danzig. He also founded and owns the Evilive record label as well as Verotik, an adult-oriented comic book publishing company. He probably also wants your skull.
  • Finally, Title IX of the education amendments was enacted into law on this day in 1973. Title IX prohibits federally funded educational institutions from discriminating against students or employees based on sex.
