It's not my fault! 😇

IT'S NATIONAL BLAME SOMEONE ELSE DAY!

Blame Someone Else Day occurs on the first Friday the 13th of every year, which is today! This occasion is about not taking accountability, which is actually not a very relatable impulse for me. Maybe it's an oldest child thing, but I'm excellent at taking blame when things go awry and terrible at taking credit when something goes well. As I recently quipped on Twitter, when I get a hire right at work I feel lucky, when I get a hire wrong I feel like an idiot.

I can think of at least two creeps who are excited for Friday the 13th.

Alright, here are a few things that happened on May 13ths of the past:

• Born on this day: actor/sparkly vampire Robert Pattinson (1986), singer-songwriter/musician Stevie Wonder (1950), comedian/writer/producer/actor Stephen Colbert (1964), actress/snarky Golden Girl Bea Arthur (1922), singer-songwriter/musician Ritchie Valens (1941), and actor Harvey Keitel (1939)

It was on this day in 1767 that Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's first opera "Apollo et Hyacinthus" premiered in Salzburg. Mozart wrote the opera at the tender age of 11, making us all feel like underachievers.
