🥰 Some little things you might enjoy!
As you can see up top, we just released some new art. If your favorite little things include spooky or otherwise misunderstood and/or under-appreciated critters, this is the tee for you!
👃 What an interesting new smell we've discovered!
Happy National Banana Day! Whatever you do, don't tell Josh on our creator team — he recently divulged on the Boredwalk podcast that even the slightest hint of banana flavor will ruin dishes for him. Oh well — guess it's up to me to polish off this hummingbird cake. Bummer!
It's a bird, it's a plane, no it's...🦇
Just in time for this past weekend's premier of Renfield, it's a perfect day to honor nature's cutest little goths! Here are a few fun things you may not know about them:
In case you needed a laugh 🤣
My favorite thing about designing products for Boredwalk is making stuff that makes strangers laugh. I love both the delight we can bring to our customers and the amusement you all get to spread, whether you're gifting a friend one of our products or wearing your favorite Boredwalk shirts and getting laughs from strangers passing you on the street.
Today's vibe: chaotic neutral 🤨
When checking out today's frivolous occasions on the calendar things started off promising; Grilled Cheese Sandwich Day (yes please), Drop Everything and Read Day (D.E.A.R. Day) — don't have to ask me twice. But I also noticed the day trying to honor both licorice and marizpan, two confections conceived of in Hell that I wouldn't consume if they were the last treats on Earth.
I'm not a hugger, but... 🌵
The world is a mostly terrible place, but at least we get animal cuddles as a small consolation. Regular readers know we recently had to say goodbye to our beloved cat, and ever since we've both missed him and the company of animals in general. While I'm not ready to take on caring for another fuzzy critter full time just yet, I have been fiending for some critter cuddles.
The grammar lesson some people need 🙄
Last month I went to a conference for professional e-commerce operators. The event was 90% male attendees, which is unsurprising; most e-commerce founders are men.
💆🏽 Time for some mid-week indulgence!
Happy National Self-Care Day! Why the powers that be who govern placement of nonsense occasions elected to place Self-Care Day in the middle of the work week is beyond me, but the good news is that it intersects with other occasions that could plausibly entail self-care.
Joy? Seems ambitious, but let's do it! 😊
Kind of an odd choice for a day about inspiring joy to land on a Monday, but I'll bite. I have always found joy to be one of the most elusive human experiences, but increasingly I find myself looking not necessarily for something as ambitious as joy, but more of a reprieve from my depression.
Feel like a kid again, but...😛
It's a perfect day to feel like a kid again, but without the hassle of limited personal autonomy, what a treat!
A word of warning 😱
If you were considering setting sail today, be on the lookout for deep sea temptresses trying to lure you to a watery doom with a haunting song.
✍️ Jot this down!
There's something nice about putting down our phones and doing things with old fashioned paper and writing implements. In fact, one of the most popular practices with artists is writing "morning pages," which means grabbing a notebook and pen or pencil in the morning and just writing for a set amount of time or pages.
