Nothing matters! 🎉

LIFE IS SHORT, HAVE FUN!

Finding yourself caught up in your daily drudgery of responsibilities and expectations? Our shiny new design up top is a reminder that in the grand scheme of things we're all destined to be worm food and the sun will eventually self destruct and take the planet down with it.

While this may seem like terrible news, it's also a reminder to embrace the absurd and not sweat the small stuff. I say this as a consummate worrier who never saw a molehill I didn't try to turn into a mountain. I need this reminder as much as anyone, given how obsessively my pesky brain will remind me of typos in emails or an awkward thing I said at work. Shut up, brain, it's the weekend, it's time for some fun!
Speaking of fun, Happy Pride Month to all who celebrate 🌈🌈🌈 (and happy unsub day to all who prefer to make life terrible for the LGBTQ community). Bye, haters!
Can I get an amen gif
Cheers to that!

Also, shout out to Rebecca D., whom Rando-Bot 5000 selected as our free shirt (or book/Delve Deck) winner for the month of May!

Want some more amusement? Check out the newest episode of the Boredwalk podcast! This week Boredwalk co-founder Matt chatted with Josh from the content team! They discuss the possibility that Josh is secretly a Teenage Mutant Ninja turtle, visiting the cat cafe, refusing to bow down to the tyranny of allergies, favorite local spots, and they answered a question from our Delve Deck. Listen on your favorite podcasting platform or, even better, watch them on YouTube!

OK, let's kick off the weekend with a few June 2nd famous birthdays and historical facts to impress your friends (or randos at the pride parade) with:

• Born on this day: French "philosopher" and noted sex pest Marquis de Sade (1740), Rolling Stones drummer Charlie Watts (1940), rapper/actress Awkwafina (1988), actor Justin Long (1978), comedian Jo Koy (1971), and actor Zachary Quinto (1977)
• Prosecutions in the Salem Witch Trials began on this day in 1692. Boooooo!

Italy transitioned from a monarchy to a parliamentary republic on this day in 1946

Liquid Television debuted on MTV on this day in 1991 (if you remember watching that show you definitely need our 1990s activity book)
Pour one out for following deathday boys & girls: baseball legend Lou "the Iron Horse" Gehrig (1941) and singer-songwriter & guitarist Bo Diddley (2008)
OK, that's it for this week! We'll be back here in your inbox on Monday with another email and (hopefully) a fresh customer Q&A! If you'd like to be featured in an upcoming email reply to this and let us know!

Peace, love, and optimistic nihilism,

Meredith
